Somewhere over the rainbow!

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high there’s a land that I've heard of once in a lullaby. Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true.

I don’t want to run, hide and tell. I want to chase my dreams and live in a safe, peaceful world. London has been my home in the last 5 years and I have grown incredibly fast in this city. London proved me that dreaming big is the only way to become a better person. This city transformed me in the butterfly I am today. Free and brave regardless of the challenges and setbacks I’ve had. London either makes you or breaks you. It made me the person I am today. Stronger. Wiser. Calmer. Mature enough to speak up and stand up in a loving but assertive way for my core values. London forced me to grow. To study more. To evolve as a young professional. To discover myself. I have always but always, compared myself with the person I’ve used to be last year or few years ago. I am addicted to bettering myself as I go. If you can make it in a city like London trust me…you can make it anywhere. It is a tough city. If you don’t have the emotional intelligence and strength to survive and grow with it, it eats you alive. London is not for everybody.

I am proud to be part of London. I call it home now. I have my people here. I want it safe and vibrant as we all love it. It is the most powerful city in the world and the one with the best security systems in the world. The speed of reaction in case of any incident is amazing as the last events prove it.

This Saturday I went up in London to do a photo shooting for my website. We have spent all afternoon strolling the soroundings of Tower Bridge, South Bank and Borough Market. Because this is by far our favourite area in central London. It has always been.

Later in the afternoon we decided to go home and watch the Championship final just because we’ve had cold beer in the fridge already and some indian food in the cards. Those beers might have saved our lives. 2 hours and a half later, after we’ve taken the train home from London Bridge station, London was under terror. The same streets where I’ve been 4 times last week and where I have taken my family who came to visit, including my 83 years old nan to see London through my eyes.

This will change nothing. If I fancy a walk by the Thames, I will be there whenever I want it. I will look arround twice, indeed. I will do my best to stay safe. But I refuse by all means to be afraid to live my life in the most amazing city I chose to be in.

I am still shocked by the cruelty of the recent events. Nobody deserves a death like that. Not even a predator. It is beyond the human understanding. There are no excuses. My heart cries and prays for those who died, were injured or have been affected in any way by the events at London Bridge and Borough Market on Saturday. My heart cries for all the recent events where innocent people were cruelty victims. I am moved by the outstanding reaction of the Police, British Special Forces and moreover, the public. People like you and I stood up against terror. With bottles, tables, baskets or bare handed. They are heroes and this gives me hope that today and tomorrow we can still live in a safe WORLD. Thank you humanity for raising above the dark. Thanks to you there is hope out there.

May all the citizens of the world realize that we all benefit only through PEACE and prayers. Today, at 11:00 AM, London time, we will have 1 minute of silence to remember those affected on Saturday. WE STAND TOGETHER!
God bless us all. Sending you love and sparkles, Corina Alexandra Wanderlust in Style
